Usage of sounds for University projects

Hi guys. I'm currently studing on an Animation and Design Course in the UK and I am woundering if it is ok to use sounds from the sight for my course projects. Being new to the sight I'm unsure what to do when it comes to all the legal terms of usage and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
Also what would I need to so if say the sound was to be used for a logo or title sequence as there are no credit scroles for those animations
If someone could lend me a helping hand here I'd be very greatful.

When you are not sure you always can send the sound-owner a message.
For 'my' sounds you can use all my sounds for the course. Thats okey. I hope others will learn freesound that way.

Hi there,
At least in the U.S., copyright law includes something called fair use, which covers the times when using copyrighted material is allowed. One of these is student work, which is a protected category under fair use. This is U.S. copyright law, and while I'm pretty sure it applies to all work created by U.S. citizens, I'm not sure what the rules are in the U.K. or elsewhere.
Since this is free sound afterall, I think you are free to use it for student work definitely (commercial work being another matter entirely), and attribution is always appreciated, but I'm sure others that know better will jump in to correct me if I'm wrong.
