How can I upload a file only to a user who requested one individual sound?
Thank you!

Hi, good question.

On Freesound, anything you upload is available to anyone on the site.

My advice is to use an independent file transfer platform. WeTransfer is a really good site used my many industries for safe and private file transfers.

You have the option to either send a download link in an email or you can get the link and paste it into a private message here on Freesound if you don't know the person's email address.

You run an on-line magazine and podcast.

I find it hard to believe you don't know how to send an e-mail with an attachment, or if it's too long how to make it available via a private area on your own blog/website.

I think hapkemedia was hoping that there would be some way to make an exclusive upload on Freesound. I like to give the benefit of the doubt smile

Understood that. And kudos to you for a helpful answer.

Didn't mean to sound stern or harsh, but I guessed Ramona either knows her way round the internet, or must know people who do.

If Ramona replies I will apologize directly. I've done that before on stuff I thought might be spam.

Wibby.

I don't think you need to apologise mate. I had to do a double take as well. You wouldn't believe the amount of spam posts I delete daily, so I like to think I can tell the difference. But this time I'm doubting myself now i've looked at the website hmmm

Hi,
thank you for this constructive discussion. Of course I know how to send an email oder use FTP or online services. But of course nobody can know this. I was asking for an option within freesound like "tick the box" for a special user.
I will now look around freesound.
Have a nice day!

Nun, ich sende dir meine Entschuldigung, Ramona. ~ Well I send you my apologies Ramona.

We get a lot of one-time users putting up links, but they don't introduce themselves further and never upload or download.

I hope you find your answers elsewhere, but I also hope you find a useful reason to carry on with Freesound. I'm just an ordinary member and not part of the Freesound team, so I hope my skepticism doesn't reflect on them. They're a terrific bunch.

Wibby
