I created this hihat by creating some white noise from the command prompt in linux and piping the output to a wav file. e.g cat /dev/urandom > urandom.wav
I then opened the file in audacity and copied and manipulated many instances of the original file beyond all recognition being careful not to make the sample too loud. I used a lot of pitch shifting and also have some reverse reverb mixed in there too.
