I would like to be notified in this site (since it's where I spend most of my time) of forum replies & what not. Most sites have this, can see why you guys don't.

Yeah, I think the only thing you get notifications for is direct messages.

You can get email notifications about replies in forum threads, sound comments and other stuff. To get email notifications for forum threads you have to subscribe to them. You can configure email notification settings in your account settings page.
