Hi, just tried uploading a sound and it has failed twice, just saying "Something went wrong" right at the very end. Tried in both WAV and FLAC with the same result. The larger of the two files is 344MB, well under the 1GB limit. it's just over 10 minutes long. Is there an issue? Thanks.

Cut it to just under ten minutes and uploaded fine, so there appears to be a ten-minute limit.

Another way to upload longer files is using a compressed audio format. It worked for me, when I was uploading many hours of recorded audio.

There seems to be a problem with anything larger than ~300MB for quite a while, I hope they fix it some day.

After uploading an other file later and than looking for describing the sounds half, all the uploaded the files were in the database. It looks like the systen is very slow, but working??

The system actually said it had failed for me. It appeared to be the length of time rather than the file size that was the issue.

Hi everyone, we're very sorry about that. Even though we managed to improve many things with the infrastructure of Freesound, we're still having issues with uploading large sounds. This is because our hard disks are very slow but it is not as easy as buying new fast ones because of many limitations related to university infrastructure (although we're trying!). We'll need to find another solution for the uploads issue of large sounds while we can't improve the overall disk situation.

I appear to have the same "something went wrong" issue no matter what I upload (small wav, flac or mp3 files)

I assume this is all related and wish you guys the best in getting it fixed! smile

I have a similar error message. "Something went wrong" Problem started to occur at around midnight GMT+1.

The file size is around 45 Mb. Tried to upload around 6 times. Tried another (5Mb) file. Also failed.

Same problem this evening, even after logging out/in then disabling antivirus, Id theft etc etc etc.

Best,

Jim.

I uploaded one file today. Successful. And then again the inscription:

Something went wrong

I tried to upload the following file three times and the caption kept repeating:

Something went wrong

Hi,

How big is the file? does it happen with other files as well? Did you check if the file appears to be ready for description? (even if the error messagge appeared). And did you see the message after the progress bar finished or in the middle of it loading?

The size of an individual WAV file is between 15MB and a maximum of 33MB. I only have WAV because I don’t have big files. However, it did not seem logical to me that after the inscription Something went wrong, I would check how it is with the uploaded file, because not even the number under the Messenges section increased, that a new file was detected. Now before I send this message I tried to upload the same file as yesterday but reports still Something went wrong.

File: length 28 seconds, size 28.2MB

Checked the existence of the sent file. Zero.
