Hello, I'm new here I find this site amazing and inspiring.
The only thing I would like to see is a unique File number for every sample. That would make more easier to keep a list of favorite samples than having to write several description words to find the file again!!

Thanks

every file HAS a unique number.

http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=17631

file number = 17631

if you download the filename will be:

17631_acclivity_Kittiwakes1.wav

The file number is the last number of the sound's page. For example

http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/samplesViewSingle.php?id=17643

the number 17643 is the file number.

When you download a file, the name of the file begins with the file number.

Bye.

Hi, thanks for the fast answer.
Still, you can't see the file number when you are browsing, fro example in "Random sample" the file number ID doesn't appear anywhere in the page. Plus I tried to search a file with its file number and it didn't work.
Example: I downloaded this file "14385_reinsamba_Fortaleza_election_campaign.wav" (you have to download the sample to see the filenumber?)
I took "14385" I search for than number... Doesn't work.

If there is an easier way, it's not evident.

quite right indeed!
there isn't an easy way to do it.

I could add it to the search if you want...

Yes, If the File Number appears as part of the info data in the page and you can search file numbers, could be helpful.
Thanks

it's an 'advanced search' option now.

I'll add a 'permanent link' to the random page.
