I know life as a web developer can be hard but my message to thank the author of a sound is considered spam. My tip to the people running this site is to have a URL field separate from the rest of the form. That way you can white- or blacklist links as you wish. Currently it is no good.

How do I thank the author/recorder of the sound when I can't show them how I used it? Posting ONE link should be ok.

Thank you Rebekah for the whalesong! I have used it in the first game I have ever made. You might want to have a look but this site does not allow it.

All the best,
T

Hi,
Sad this is happening :/
I encourage you to still leave a comment thanking for the sound, saying you used it in a game.
Even if you can't link it yet... (People have left me comments with a link to their game, it's flattering and a honour ^^)
You probably can contact https://freesound.org/people/frederic.font/ about your issue.

Cheers!

Hi TibbeDude.
If I remember correctly -
I think it's only new members who can't post links.
I don't know how long you have to be registered/posting/commenting to enable links in posts.
(Might be more info in FAQs)

It was done, very sensibly, to stop hundreds of Bots registering then posting hundreds of SPAM links daily and swamping the forum. Hard work for Admin to delete them manually.

Meantime post, with apologies, (//mywebspace dot myserver dot com dot, whatevs) as text.
Recipient will understand and appreciate.
Sure you'll be link enabled soon.

Good luck
Wibby.
