Hello.

It would be cool to have two template description options when uploading/describing a sound.
They would be two buttons right above the description box that would paste text inside the description.

1) A custom one.
2) A generic "what you should fill in".

My suggestion below.

Subject :
Date of recording:
Location:
Equipment:
Processing:
Notes and comments :

I feel like it would inspire and help new uploaders for better descriptions. And have an easy start, time saver for regulars.

It's possible by copy pasting, but having it right there would be a nice comfort feature! wink

Many thanks!

Hi @Sadiquecat,

Thanks for the suggestion, this is indeed an interesting option and we might eventually integrate something like that. On our research side of things we've been recently working on defining a broad sound taxonomy that would allow for a general classification of sounds. We recently did a survey about that, maybe some of you participated. The idea is that once we have our "final" version of such taxonomy, we will add a field in the description form to choose from one of the classes. Then, it might make sense that the templates you're suggesting might vary depending on the chosen category (as different types of sounds might require different types of descriptions). We eventually want to analyse the impact that introducing such a change in the description form would have in sound descriptions. So yeah, we'll take this ideas into account soon, but we don't want to make any rushed changes now as this might bias our experimentation.

Thanks!
