Hi,

Freesound does keep login sessions open for a while so you only type your username/pass from time to time. Maybe there is some problem on your end? Have you tried using different browsers and/or computers to see if the problem persists?

Btw, if "nearly a decade" refers to the age of Freesound, it is nearing two decades now!

Hey Frederic. I think the issue is related to cookie deletion on the browser on exiting.
This will obviously "forget" the login each time you visit the site.
Some browsers do this as an option. Some by default others you have to activate it.

Can be avoided by adding freesound.org to the "allow list" in privacy settings.

Yes, anyone who logs into freesound with an "Incognito", or "Private" setting on the browser will not be logged in after they close the browser (which clears the cookies). They will also lose the log-in if they manually (or on a schedule) clear or flush the cookies, unless Headphaze's comment is followed.

Also if you log in on your phone, say, the log in will not be remembered when you next visit on a laptop unless (possibly) you have some pretty sophisticated syncing arrangement set up.

This is normal behaviour for 99%ish of all websites.
