The sound originates from a passenger car in motion, generated by the engine and tire–road interaction. It consists of continuous engine noise and tire friction, with a noticeable Doppler change as the car approaches and passes the recording position.
The sound was recorded on a residential street in Hervanta, Tampere, using a recorder in iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The recording is intended for a university audio processing project, suitable for simple analysis of pass-by sounds and spectral changes over time.
