I've just joined in the past few months on Freesound since I'm a freelance and soundmaker for one of my hobbies.
My dad turned me to this site in making animations and games with sounds, and ever since then I've been hooked and checked in whenever I could for whatever sounds I could find.

...Although I lost that account because the password was forgotten, I made a new one to contribute myself to Freesound by making my own content here for fun. It's not much but it's honest work and I've gone on discord to get this site notoriety from the sound-bytes I make for my characters and etc.

As technology increases and systems change I'd say this is a necessary step to keep a giant like Freesound continuing for further users down the line as I have yet to find anything comparable to the easy to use and awesome sound makers that reside here and create amazing content for the users who do their own work and hobbies.
I wouldn't know what to do if this site ever lost it's funding or sustainability.

-But I don't see that happening, and I'm so very thankful to the Freesound team and all the users and sound makers who continually use this site to share their works and to further their projects in unison.
I'm still new, but now is better than never, and I'm definitely going to be donating to keep this one of a kind place healthy and well.
And; I'm posting that donation link whenever anyone inquires about my works on other platforms to keep on doing my part.

Thanks for everything people, peace out!

I just got a message asking me to donate. I really wish I could, but I'm actually homeless living in an electric room atm. But I hope that others who are more fortunate can and will. Thanks free sound.

Please create a Patreon, with an option for monthly subscriptions and some kind of tier levels.
e.g. $2 per month, $5 per month 10$ per month etc.

You should be able to reach your funding goals.

Also Patreon allows for a high level of transparency, including number of donors and amount raised etc.

Unfortunately not no. If you have a bank account, surely you have a debit card?

Would like to donate in dollars. I don't care to use PayPal. Is there another way?

Is it just me or is the site broken? I can put any word in the search and it comes up No Sounds Found. Like for Dog, or Rain or any thing simple. Is this place shutting down?
